cosin software 2025-4 release notes
General cosin software aspects
- fix: certain arithmetic expression evaluations were wrong
- minimum supported emulated version lifted to 2016-3
- improved error and warning messages statistics, cleanly discriminating tasks and cases in mutli-threaded mode
- maximum spline look-up table sizes increased
- new pane in launchpad to allow fast access to all example user-defined models, and build them with one mouse click
- improvements in arithmetic expression evaluation: potential thread safety issue avoided, increased number of simultaneously open expressions
cosin graphical user interface (GUI)
- detailed error message added to GUI if temp directory cannot be opened or created
- made sure cosin windows don’t overlap dock if on the left of the screen
- made sure option -noerrwin works for info windows as well
FTire/core
- fix: bottoming hysteresis data could not be set to zero
- fix: in online animation, contact force vectors sometimes could not be activated
- accuracy of flexible rim deformation influence on sidewall deflection improved
FTire/sim
- full support of csv-files as alternative to ASCII mtl-files, both to be written by FTire/sim and to be shown by cosin/ip
FTire/fit
- fix: friction validation shows warnings even if validation worked for all cases
- fix: parameter ’nominal lateral stiffness‘ was not updated during lateral stiffness test check-in
- user-defined score values for FTire/fit test cases introduced
- simulation duration for friction cases made adjustable
cosin/tools
- fix: default setting for csv separator is semicolon
- added high-pass filters to arithmetic expressions and to cosin/ip
- more general low-pass filter functionality in cosin/ip
- new plot kind ‚distribution density‘ in cosin/ip
- new cosin/io functions: step() and ramp()
- new set of automatically generated test signals for cosin/ip
- PI controller added to arithmetic functions
- allow non-equidistant time domain signals when filtering in cosin/ip and adjust cut-off frequency treatment
cosin/tools for roads
- fix: adding a center-line to an rgr file extracted from an rdf file did not work
- fix: inaccurate PSD results displayed in 2D road analysis
- fix: rgr build with transformed center-line did not work properly
- improved accuracy for non-square PSD realizations (long roads), enabling long longitudinal waves even if road is narrow
- improved error message in rgr creation
- improved PSD visualization for road data files
cosin/tools for tires
- fix: changing parameters in emulated mode might have not worked properly
- fix: d.o.f. animation might have been incorrect
- fix: in thermal model, changing ’smooth‘ check-box resets thermal parameters to default values
- fix: in thermal model, look-up table for ‚factor friction change vs. temp.‘ could not be defined
- fix: MF 2002 export accuracy improved
- fix: output of FTire parameter ‚rim_flange_contact_stiff_progr‘ might have been missing when creating a new FTire data file
- improved convergence in cornering stiffness computation for fingerprints
- made search strategy selectable for data files when creating database
- more error handlers added to database creator
- several improvements in PAC 2002 model export
CTI (cosin tire interface)
- new cti API function: ctiSetRimDisplacements() to connect user-defined dynamic rim models; for more info, see cti.pdf
Documentation
- cosin/rgr documentation revised
- CTI documentation revised
- FTire/fit documentation reformatted
